Behind the Lens

Hello and Thank You for visiting. I am Lorraine, photographer and owner of Black Swan.  Creative and observant by nature, I have spent the majority of my life immersed in some form of artistic expression.

 

I began professionally photographing weddings and engagements in my teens and mastered that craft over the following 26 years. I opened a bi-coastal photography business and photographed people and events in CA, NY and NJ.  I have photographed well over 1500 weddings, thousands of children and family portraits and a multitude of events and I am honored to have been a part of these special moments both intimate and celebratory delivering countless cherished memories.

In addition, my early years were spent living and working in Los Angeles as a camera gal on movies, TV shows, commercials and music videos. Through that medium, I had an opportunity to work with some amazing creatives and developed a love for high- fashion photography and incorporated that style into my art.

Today, besides being a mom to overly photographed twins, my passion is to bring an individual style to my art that is simultaneously fun, unique, aesthetically rich and sometimes, a bit edgy.  I want to show you that you don't have to be a model to have Vogue - worthy portraits; that you too can have pictures that look like they belong on the cover of Cosmo. Whether we're creating senior portraits, engagement or bridal photos or just photographing you at this current stage in your life, it will be bold; it will be fun; it will be invigorating.
